Solo Piano by Gonzales (No Format!, 2004)

“Solo Piano” is Chilly Gonzales’s piano solo album released in 2004 (by the alias of “Gonzales”).

This album is influenced by Erik Satie’s melodies, simpleness, popularity humour and casualness, Jazz swinging rhythm and improvisation and today’s Pop music sense. Essences of Classical Music, Jazz and Pop are chosen, integrated and extracted by him.

Compare with other Post-classical musicians, the particular characteristics of his music is very original, and casual, light, cheerful and funny.

The piano tone and sound are very clear and simple, there’s no needless effects, reflections and noises.

“Gogol” is his representative and iconic work features the theme like “Gymnopédie” and “Gnossiennes” of Satie.

This is the unique masterpiece of today’s piano music album. And very refreshing also relaxing music, easy to listen to, and to enjoy… enjoy!

Solo Piano II (Gentle Threat, 2012)

Compared with “Solo Piano (I)”, this album is more delicate, sensitive and rather melancholic. And I feel the elements like Claude Debussy, George Winston, Pop Ballad, Blues and 21 century’s sophisticated Jazz Piano Solo music.
